- The New Economic Policy
- Aim was to rebuild the economy and keep people on side
- Mixed economy (some free market, some nationalised)
- 1921 ended rationing and people could buy food
- NEP men travelled in and out of cities and the country buying and selling goods
- Goes against communist ideals which caused political division
- Lead to the scissor crisis
- There was industrial growth until it plateaued
- It also resulted in a very wealth NEP men
- It was popular with peasants
